Recommended Pilates Books and DVDs

Body Control Pilates® DVDs and Books

Having first trained with Lynne Robinson, Gordon Thompson and Helge Fisher - I was on the very first  mat work training course that ran in 1996, they have been busy over the years  since with some excellent books and  DVDs as well as becoming the most well known and respected teacher training organisation in the UK and is now up and running in many other countries and is about to go to China.

Body ControlPilates® teacher training is second to none, and the backup we have as teachers is incredibly supportive and there is a brilliant team of teachers at the London HQ as well as Leigh and Rebecca, Lynne's husband and daughter who have made it seem a real family affair.

Stott Pilates® DVDs

I subsequently trained with Moira Stott in Toronto, Canada,  in the most beautiful studio with views of downtown Toronto and Lake Ontario and met a fantastic team of instructors.  Since I went over there in 1999, Stott Pilates has become  truly global with  equipment, training manuals, DVDs and a worldwide teacher  training programme.

Moira has an unbelievable range of DVD  available now for all levels, covering  many different ways to do Pilates,  including equipment. They are great as back up for those of you attending  classes as many people have found them hard to follow properly without a good  understanding of the Pilates principles.  As a
workout at home to keep  up the good work as well as a weekly or twice weekly class, they are perfect as  they pace you through the exercises and give you the cues for breathing and  movement and nearly always offer a lower or higher level for each exercise so you can build properly through the correct stages.
