The Back Door and Mr Nick Birch, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Spinal Specialist
We have been lucky enough to have close links with Mr Nick
Birch, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Spinal Specialist based in Kettering,
Northamptonshire.
Mr Birch and his research fellow Chris Heywood, have set up an excellent website which acts as a portal to finding information on back pain.
They have looked at just about everything out there on the net and where there is good advice, they have included a link.
There are also really useful PDF booklets which explain the main treatments that Mr Birch
ffers and if you have had the same or are about to, or have been offered it and are not sure what to do, the booklets are clear, concise and explain exactly what the procedure is, why it is necessary, what happens in theature and the recovery time and also the recovery regime he expects his patients to do. Obviously this is based on his own spinal practice, but you may find them really helpful even if you are not lucky enough to be one of his patients.
Its an excellent website to start searching for information on back pain. This is an ongoing project and a massive undertaking so consider it a work in progress.
