1,338 online Pilates classes. A year in Lockdown

It's been a whole year since the first lockdown started but Pilates really hasn't stopped. No matter what else happens we will always be here to keep you moving if you need help

We were incredibly lucky that we could take our business online when the lockdown first began. Our fantastic clients were really eager to embrace the online experience, and it's honestly been so much better than we could imagine possible. We have always been really hands on with our clients, giving as much feedback as we can for each of them individually and we have managed to keep that going even via a screen!

The last regular Pilates classes ran on Tuesday the 17th of March last year. By then it was clear that group services like ours wouldn't be running any longer. But after 5 days of frantic admin and testing Zoom we had our first online classes up running just hours before Boris's lockdown announcement on the 23rd.

We are immensely grateful to our clients who have stuck with us and helped to keep us going during this period and the new ones who have joined us and even some who left to go to other parts of the country and have joined us back in class online. They are so happy to be back in our classes again.

£1,700 raised by our wider community for local charities

Alongside our online classes we’ve also run online health webinars which have been open to everyone, whether in class or not. All the proceeds went to the The Hope Centre and so far we’ve raised £1,700!

Last year we ran our first webinar which was about looking after your spine in lockdown. This month our 10th webinar will be about post-pregnancy health and wellbeing. We feel immensely proud that we've been able to keep our clients active but also that we can connect people with some amazing health professionals too. With the constant worry and negativity surrounding Covid-19 it's been wonderful to give people positive advice around their health and wellbeing.

1,338 Classes Attended from living rooms, kitchens, the garden, posh sheds and even a holiday caravan!

There is proof that you can exercise anywhere and no matter what state the world is in. We've always encouraged our clients to exercise in between classes, even check their posture while they are standing in a queue in the shop.

Now, after a year of online classes we're more certain than ever that everyone can enjoy the benefits of exercise, even if time and access is limited. You don't need to wait for gyms and event spaces to open. You just need to do it. Even if you have aches and injuries there will be ways to accommodate these.

If you are not sure where to start or need that nudge to get you moving then we are here to help. It's been our pleasure to keep everyone moving throughout this chaotic period and will continue to do so whatever happens!
