We are now an award winning Pilates studio!

Rose of Northamptonshire Award

Even through pandemics and lockdowns we will always strive to keep our loyal and wonderful clients well exercised and give them the support we can.

It was a very strange afternoon when we received an email from the Northamptonshire County Council, which had signatures from the leader of the council, the High Sheriff and Lord-Lieutenant of Northampton. The email described an award that was being given to individuals and groups who had pulled out all the stops during the 2020 pandemic. We had been nominated because of the support we had given people. Now obviously I (Dan) immediately thought this is probably a hoax, I’ll be directed to a page where I can claim our reward for just a single payment to a mysterious island in the Atlantic - because honestly that’s usually what winning an award means these days. You often have to PAY to nominate yourself - a strange concept!

But no, it was definitely not a scam. One or more of our truly wonderful clients had written written to the Rose of Northampton awards team to nominate us.

During the presentation Karen noticed how so many of the award winners were charities or support workers who were continuing to help people. She got a bit of imposter syndrome because here we were amongst these charities, a small local business, trying to stay afloat.

23 YEARS OF EXERCISE AND OUR EXTENSIVE NETWORK OF LOCAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS.

But, it showed how much our service meant to our clients and how much they gain from exercising with us. By adapting to the new online world that came out of lockdown we were able to keep people moving, keep lockdown aches at bay and maintain another social outlet that our clients nearly lost. We’ve gone beyond just teaching exercise classes now though. Karen pushed further and used her professional connections built up over 23 years of teaching to arrange our online health webinars. Through which people could learn more about how to look after themselves in lockdown and could also make connections with local health professionals who would at this point in the pandemic would be difficult to reach. These have now raised over £1500 most of which has gone to the Hope Centre in Northampton.

We might just be movement teachers, running 1 hour exercise classes but we have created a close and supportive community. We will do our best to inspire you to move, to challenge yourself and to take control of your health. And if you have issues that we don’t think we can help with, if you are part of our community, we will try and connect you with people who can help - because we know some amazing health professionals who will be able to help you get back to good health and wellbeing.

If you want to join us and our clearly amazing clients with a team of teachers who are passionate about movement and helping you make the best of your health and wellbeing - we’d love to meet you and have you in our classes. Thank you.
